Born in 1992, Danielle Robert is a singer-songwriter hailing from Pain Court, Ontario, a small francophone village in southwestern Ontario.
Danielle holds grade nine piano accreditation with The Royal Conservatory of Music. She is currently entering her second year in the Honours Bachelor of Music Program at Wilfrid Laurier University, pursuing a degree in music therapy.
Her musical creations are quoted as “earthy and organic” and are classified in the indie/pop category. Danielle is currently in the process of producing her first EP.
At the age of seventeen, Danielle’s composition, Julie’s Song was selected to be compiled on the Moose Trax 5 CD from the Haliburton Broadcast Group which gave her song airplay on twelve stations across Central and Northern Ontario. This song was also translated in French, winning her the “Idol en essor” music competition against other students in the French-catholic school district of southwestern Ontario (CSDECSO).
Danielle’s songwriting abilities were also spotlighted on TFO’s, “Musimission” during which time she participated in Montreal’s sixth annual “Quand ça nous chante” festival. In 2011, Danielle was a finalist at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Battle of the Bands and has opened for names including Canadian Indie Rock band, Will Currie and the Country French as well as Kai. Danielle also performed at Maxwell’s Music House in Waterloo, Ontario for the third Annual Aphrodite’s Series in celebration of women and music in support of the Bracelet of Hope Campaign.
On the local scene, Danielle has performed at “So You Think You Got Talent Chatham-Kent”, Tilbury’s Sausage & Cheese Fest for the Land Between the Lakes Culture Action Team, Chatham-Kent Tastefest, Chatham-Kent Ribfest featured at downtown Chatham’s Coffee Culture, ARTspace Art Crawls and at La Girouette, a community center for the francophone society in Chatham-Kent. She has sang at the national anthem for both Wallaceburg’s first annual Relay For Life as well as well as the Citizenship Ceremony at Retro Suites. The artist recently aired an interview with CKXS 99.1 FM where her recent compilations, Washing Machine and Bent Tree were featured. Danielle currently is featured every Thursday in the summer at downtown Chatham’s Coffee Culture.
