Local Spotlight – Walkin’ 47

Tune in daily all this week at 3:40 pm as Jay features Chatham’s WALKIN’ 47 on the Local Spotlight.

Formed out of a love for Canadian music, Walkin’ 47 has been playing the southwestern Ontario music scene since 2007.

Walkin’ 47 has been fortunate enough to play host to local fundraising events and festivals and in the process has helped raise well over $50,000 for worthwhile causes.

Often regarded as one of the best Tragically Hip cover acts around, they are currently working on their first, full length, original album with influences from Sam Roberts, Sloan, CCR and a host of others.

The guys in Walkin’ 47 are like family and consist of Scott Aarssen (rhythm guitar), Steve Bellan (drums), Brian Cox (lead guitar), Jason Denys (bass guitar) and Drew Varsava (lead vocals).
