This past weekend was very exciting and filled with many great events I had the privilege to go to. My weekend started out on Friday morning at Uncle Tom’s Cabin for Emancipation Day. I went on the tours, viewed the galleries, and was able to see the houses, church, where Josiah Hensen “Uncle Tom” lived in Dresden. 20170804_1216581

My Saturday started off in beautiful Erieau where Art on the Boulevard 2017 was taking place. There were 105 vendors lining the boulevard with their unique pieces of art. This event had such a variety to offer everyone who would attending it. The vendors sold anything from jewelry to lawn decorations, to paintings, to clothing and so much more. The entire boulevard was filled with vendors so needless to say the event was very successful. I had a great time walking the boulevard to see all the vendors, their displays, and what they had to offer. Sadly I had to leave after spending some of my morning in Erieau to head over to Port Lambton.20170805_0856291

Gala Days was this past weekend in Port Lambton so after I was finished in Erieau I cruised down to Port Lambton. The Summer Escape was in the Gala Days parade which was loads of fun! After the parade I was in the park for the rest of my Saturday afternoon. At Gala Days there was a baseball tournament, a volleyball tournament, live music, and other activities happening throughout the weekend. For kids activities there was a clown, face painting, and a small petting zoo. In the petting zoo there were rabbits, lizards, turtles, a snake, and a kangaroo! All of the proceeds for this event went right back into the community for kids sports leagues so it was going to a great cause!

I had such a great weekend this past weekend traveling across the XS area. I am excited for this weekend for Bothwell’s OptaFest and WAMBO!20170805_1338501
