Remembrance Day Holiday Closings

 Citizens are encouraged commemorate all who have served their country by taking part in Remembrance Day ceremonies.

Please be advised that the following municipal offices and facilities will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 11:

 Closed on TUESDAY November 11

  • All Community Municipal Centres and Information Desks – Blenheim, Chatham, Dresden, Ridgetown, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Bothwell, Merlin, Highgate, Thamesville and Wheatley
  • All Public Libraries will be closed Tuesday November 11
  • Building, Enforcement and Licensing Services
  • Entegrus offices will be closed
  • Chatham-Kent Visitor Information Centre and RM Classic Car Exhibit
  • Cultural Administrative Offices and CK Tickets Box Office
  • Economic Development Services and Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre
  • Health & Family Services offices – Employment & Social Services, Housing Services, Children’s Services, and Public Health (Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207)
  • Health Unit Clinic Services
  • Park Avenue Business Centre – offices of Recreation Programs; Municipal Properties; Parks, Cemeteries and Horticulture; Fleet administration and Public Works administration
  • Provincial Offences Court
  • Public Utilities Commission office
  • Public Works garages

 OPERATIONAL SERVICES ON TUESDAY November 11

  • Arenas are open for regularly scheduled bookings
  • CK Transit services will maintain its regular schedule
  • Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be open as regularly scheduled
  • Garbage and recycling collection services will maintain its regular schedule for all areas receiving curbside collection
  • Harwich Transfer Station, Wallaceburg Transfer Station
  • Chatham Leaf and Yard Depot
  • May Court and Wallaceburg Childcare Learning Centres
  • Riverview Gardens Long Term Care Home – visiting hours will continue as normal but administrative offices will be closed
  • Thames Art Gallery and Chatham-Kent Museum will open 1 – 5 p.m. on the holiday
  • Cemetery staff will be on call to handle cemetery business for funeral home operations
  • Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day every day and are accessible by dialling “911” for emergency calls only
