The Ontario Regional Policy Director for the Canadian Wind Energy Association is disappointed with the recent decision by the Ford government to rip up several hundred renewable energy contracts throughout the province.

The list includes the Otter Creek project near Wallaceburg.

Brandy Gianetta says the association would like the opportunity to educate the government about the benefits of wind energy. “We really want to ensure the Doug Ford government works with us as an industry to understand the value that we do provide, and we’ll continue to have an opporutnity to do that in the future.”

Gianetta says the decision by the government will not have any immediate or short-term impact on hydro bills in the province.
