The Salvation Army has been left scrambling after a disturbing incident this week.

According to Captain Karen Holland, “Mark, our Family Services caseworker in Wallaceburg, was picking up a very generous donation of toys and blankets at the Family Services office. He loaded up his car and took it over to where the toys were being sorted,” says Holland.

“He left some stuff in the car while he went into the warehouse, came out a little bit later and everything was gone, including his car. We don’t know that they knew what was in the car and what it was for.”

Holland has a message for the thief.

“If you hear this message and you want to give back the car and the things that are inside the car, that would be very appreciated. Mark is now without a car. The toys and the blankets we can replace easily, but his car is a big issue for him, especially this time of year”, says Holland.

Holland says they’re specifically short on toys for kids up to 2 years old and 8-12.

Holland says monetary donations are also greatly appreciated, as donations to the Red Kettle campaign have been down this year.
