The local CCAC is looking for volunteers to sit on a number of boards and committees, each with the goal of improving health care in southwestern Ontario.

Kelly Robertson, the Senior Director of the Patient and Family Centred Care Council, says volunteers can be as involved as they want.

“They are working directly with our staff at the planning table and with our leaders who are making the decisions on programs and design,” Robertson says. “The patient advisers, they volunteer anywhere from one hour a month, some of our volunteers are volunteering 20 hours a month, depending.”

Application forms can be found on their website, there’s an interview process and a background check as well.
