As many as 400 jobs are up for grabs as a municipal-wide job fair is being held later today.

Mayor Randy Hope says there are plenty of good jobs available.

“Is it a shortage of skills or shortage of compensation, there’s a balancing act that goes on there,” Hope says.

“I know a number of employers that are looking at expansion around Chatham-Kent and are trying to find employees,” the Mayor explains. “That’s why the Workforce Planning Board, the community college, and others, we’re looking at how do we increase that skilled labour force?”

Today’s job fair includes 25 companies from 12 different sectors from the service industry and customer service to health care and manufacturing.

The event runs from 2 until 7 at the Bradley Convention Centre.
