Ontario college students are heading back to the classroom on Tuesday after the provincial government passed its back to work bill.

John Fairley, Vice President of Communications at St. Clair College, says students can expect to start learning right away.

“The most important thing is our faculty is going to be there to teach,” Fairly says. “The bargaining process is the right process that has finished, it wasn’t the outcome for either side because it was not a negotiated agreement, but they’re going to at least be back and students are going to be able to get down to studying and learning.”

Fairley says St. Clair College students don’t have to worry about any tests, exams, or assessments this week back in class.

“There’s a lot of anxiousness out there that students feeling that first week there’s going to be tests or exams or midterms,” Fairly says. “We don’t want anyone to feel they haven’t prepared for something or have reports due, because it just isn’t.”

The fall semester will continue through January to make up for the five-week long strike.
