Almost three hundred charges, 100 arrests and $1-million in drugs and property seized in 2017.

All thanks to Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers and their tipsters.

Spokesperson Dave Bakker says the numbers dwarf other areas.

“Our numbers are very high when you compared us to places of similar size, some programs only recover $25,000 in a year,” says Bakker. “Our drug unit recovers 3-4 times that.”

Bakker says Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers lean heavily on social media, with thousands of people looking at posts within the first few hours of posting.
