Patricia Jones is being honoured for saving a child’s life in Thamesville.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services presented her with the award on Thursday, October 19, 2017.

Authorities say Jones was at a day care in Thamesville on September 22, 2017 when she noticed 14-month old Sarah Havens was choking.

Jones acted on her First aid and CPR training and was able to save Sarah’s life.

She’s been awarded with the CKFES Citizen’s Action Award

“Our citizens who are present during emergencies can make a difference in life and death by activating 911, learning first aid and CPR, and taking action to help in an emergency”, says Assistant Chief Scott Ramey.
