For those living along Lake Erie, a temporary increase in the limit of garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, May 8th.

Municipal representatives say excess waste from last weekend’s flood can be put out onto the curb no later than Monday May 7th.

Officials say all waste must be in garbage bags, cardboard boxes, containers, or toter carts where possible.

Items such as carpets, or other waste that can’t be contained must be bundled and tied, and cut up into 5-foot lengths and must not weigh more than 44 lbs.  Bulk items like furniture are also eligible for pick-up.

Municipal officials say the extra garbage collection will be monitored to ensure that the majority of the waste is collected in a timely manner.

This applies for residents in Erieau, Erie Beach, Erie Shore Drive, and Shrewsbury. The Municipality says to contact them at 519-360-1998 to make sure your property is on the list.
