The Frank Dymock Classic Tournament is well underway with day 2 starting this morning.

Tom Cogghe, Director of Tournaments for Minor Hockey, says hockey teams from across the region are participating

“This year is our 10th year. It started back in 2008. I think at that time, it was just a Bantam division,” says Cogghe. “This year, we’ve grown to 4 divisions, and we’ve maxed out at 32 teams.”

The tournament is taking place in both Wallaceburg and Walpole Island, with 68 games taking place throughout the weekend.

Cogghe says teams keep coming back year after year.

“I’ve [received] a lot of good response from teams coming. We’re getting teams from 3 hours away. Our Novice, which is our youngest group, this year I have 6 teams that are coming from two hours away. We do get some repeat teams”, says Cogghe.
