The Wallaceburg/Walpole Island Health Coalition says the community must rally again to save the Wallaceburg site of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Coalition president Shirley Roebuck is concerned the Doug Ford government is working behind the scenes to regionalize health care in the province.

Roebuck believes the plan calls for small rural hospitals to be amalgamated with larger nearby centres.  She suspects services in Wallaceburg could relocated to Windsor.

“If that’s the case, I think small, rural hospitals won’t get a fair shake,” Roebuck says. “I don’t know how many battles this town of Wallaceburg has had to save the hospital, but I’m telling people we need to gather ourselves together for one more fight.”

Roebuck says anyone and everyone interested in health care in this area is invited to a meeting at the UAW Hall on Elm Street in Wallaceburg tonight at 7 p.m.
