The Doug Ford government promised members of Water Wells First they would look into the water issues in Chatham-Kent during the summer election, and now they have started the process.

Members of the group visited Queens Park last week and watched as Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton rose in the house to say the Ministry of Health has begun the process of a Health Hazard Investigation.

“We have moved quickly to scrap the Green Energy Act and cancel 750 wasteful energy contracts, including the Otter Creek project,” McNaughton says. “Our entire PC government made a very clear commitment during the campaign that we’re going to get to the bottom of the issue and we’ve promised to stand with those impacted families, and I’m pleased to report that work has begun, the investigation has begun.”

The Ministry of Health has formally asked the Chief Medical Officer to begin reviewing data and past collections to determine the cause, and gather impact statements from affected families.
