A runaway dog has landed a Chatham man behind bars.
Just before 9 pm Tuesday night police responded to an animal complaint on Grand Avenue East, and found the owner in an agitated state.
Officers tried to calm him down but he was uncooperative so they arrested him for breaching the piece.
That is when they searched him and found he was carrying crystal meth, and a pipe.
The 37 year old man was charged with drug possession, and failing to comply.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
