Anyone who owns a lot space in Lighthouse Cove won’t be able to build, at least not in the near future. The province would allow some land owners to build septic systems with a proposed agreement that once sewers were installed they’d have to hook up. But leaving some land owners out didn’t sit well with Lakeshore Council, and the bylaw amendment was deferred. The battle to start development has been ongoing for the past 20 years, and land owners are conflicted. Many feel ALL land owners should have equal opportunities, but it also means more time and more discussion as administration will have to go back to the drawing board.
