After a country wide search, the Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services has filled two assistant chief’s positions by hiring a pair of experienced local firefighters.

Senior Captain John Praill will start his new role on August 8th, while volunteer firefighter Adam Walters will start a couple of weeks earlier on July 16th.

“Our first goal for any hire is that they strengthen the service and help us continue to provide the best community safety we can,” said Fire and Emergency Service Chief Bob Crawford. “Both John and Adam will do that in their new roles.”

Walters is a 13 year vet of the Bothwell volunteer station, serving as deputy Station Chief, while Praill has training in Ice & Fast Water Rescue and as a Trainer Facilitator.
