Chatham-Kent Police don’t believe a wind turbine collapsing in the South Kent area was due to foul play.

According to Sergeant Paul Pomajba,

“What we can tell you is that there is no suspicion of foul play at this time. It’s under investigation by Terraform, who is the operator of the windmill, the Ministry of Labour has been contacted, the Ministry of Environment has been contacted, and a number of other experts will be attending the scene to determine the cause of what has happened today. Fortunately, no one was injured, and it appears it happened sometime overnight.”

Councillor Karen Herman says she has altered the municipality.

“My first thoughts were to share this with council first. I took a pciture and sent it right away because I don’t think anyone knew at the time. I’m just glad no one was hurt”, says Herman.

The turbine is located near at the corner of Drake Road and 16th Line outside Dealtown.
