The Ontario Municipal Board recently revoked a heritage designation granted by the municipality, saying that such a decision falls under provincial jurisdiction.

The Cottagers’ Association feels that the area is historically significant, with ties to the early cottage industry in the province.

The group will now approach the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport to see if they can get heritage designation at the provincial level.
