Shelly Wilkens, Chatham-Kent Director of Housing Services says some families simply can’t afford a new bed.

“When Sleep Country got in touch with us, and told us that they want to donate to some if our tenants, we were right on board with it right away. My staff worked diligently with them to determine how we could allocate those beds”, Wilkens says.

Teresa Coleman of Wallaceburg and her daughter were one of the families who were  chosen for the program, and say they’re grateful.

Also launching is a PJs and storybooks collection program for families in need.
