Justin Latam is a performing songwriter born and raised in Canada’s Sun Parlour, Leamington, Ontario.

Latam just wrapped up the first round of CBC’s Searchlight – scanning the country for Canada’s next breakthrough artist.

He lives with his wonderful wife and their five children.

He has been writing songs for fifteen years and playing guitar for twenty years. Justin plays a handcrafted Kwasnycia Concert Acoustic Guitar, which was anonymously given to him during the recording of his 3rd studio album in 2008.

Justin performs his music barefoot, and has become known locally as the “barefoot musician”. A wide range of artists and bands influence his writing, including The Beatles, CSNY, Paul Simon, Bob Marley, Jason Mraz, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Dale Butler, and his favourite songwriter, Leonard Cohen.

In recent years, Justin has made many trips down to Nashville to further his craft.

2015 saw the release of his 5th studio album, Barefoot, recorded at Sound Foundry Studios in Kingsville, Ontario. To help fund this album, he did the “Barefoot In Your House Tour”, which was a great success. The following Barefoot radio campaign saw his music chart and get airplay on College Radio Stations across Canada.

Currently, he is getting ready with his band for his next album.
