The Moondog Howlers are a blues band that know how to rock! Featuring four seasoned musicians and a Ritalin-deprived singer, the Howlers have become a fan favourite across Chatham-Kent and Southwestern Ontario.

The guys have just released a well-received debut CD. It features 13 all original songs with special guest Kelly “Mr Chill” Hoppe (from the band Big Sugar) playing harp on three tracks.

Formed four years ago, each member brings decades of experience into the fold. The band has been fortunate to share the stage with many national and international recording acts, and is garnering attention wherever it performs.

Hailing from Chatham/Kent, the band consists of Mike Copley (vocals), Dwayne Purdy (bass), Rick Chrysler (drums), Mark Tremblay (keys) and Alex “Aug” Polowick (guitar)

The Howlers recently qualified for The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee and will be facing off and playing alongside the best on the planet.

A fundraiser and send-off concert will be held for the Moondog Howlers this Friday, January 12th at Champz (304 St. Clair St., Chatham). Admission free but good will offerings will be greatly appreciated to help send the boys to Memphis!
