SEE NICK HEDDEN PLAY LIVE THIS WEEKEND DURING THE CHATHAM CAR SHOW – MARCH 2 TO 4 AT THE JOHN D BRADLEY CENTRE IN CHATHAM!

Nick Hedden is a 21-year old singer/guitar player from Windsor, Ontario. He attends the University of Windsor and is finishing up his degree in Criminology. He has plans to go to Law school in the future. He co-owns and operates a DJ business with his dad (DJ NICSTER).

Music has been in his genes since he was born. At the of age 7, his grandparents bought him his first guitar. Shortly after that he began taking guitar lessons, but mostly learned the guitar on his own. He was part of a band in elementary school, where he was the lead singer that performed in front of the school at different functions.

In grade 9, he was part of the Vincent Massey Secondary School band where he played the drums. Nick was inspired musically by his dad (Jarrod Hedden) who many a nights he would sit and jam with. In 2010, his grandfather (Al Burniston) who also musically inspired him and was well known in the Chatham-Kent area in the 1960s-1970s for his band the Castaways, passed away. Nick used his musical talents to honour his grandfather when he sang and played his guitar at his funeral. After this time, Nick took a hiatus from his music and concentrated on school and his DJ business.

Many evenings after the house was quiet and everyone was gone to bed, Nick would grab his guitar and sing and play. This past December an evening spent with family and a few hours in their music studio ignited his passion for music.

His voice has changed since the last time he sang 7 years ago. After spending the summer coaching football with a friend, it was discovered they shared a love for music. It began many evenings of playing with his dad and Will which formed ‘Two guys and an old man band.’ Evenings were spent with Nick singing and playing his guitar along with his buddy Will Cornett, who is an exceptional guitarist. The two had an instant connection and were able to complement each other when playing. With the help of his family and friends who have been supporting his YouTube channel and sharing his videos, it has opened the door for many opportunities. He is so excited for what the future holds.

Next up, Nick and Will plan to play some venues this summer as well as write their own music. They hope to release their own album within the next few years.
