sbbfundraiserChatham-Kent’s Sterling Blues Band are Memphis bound!

The local blues sensations are holding a fundraiser this Friday night after being recognized as one of the best Blues acts in Canada. The group, consisting of Wallaceburg’s John Gardiner, Sombra’s Tom Tremblay, Blenheim’s Aug Polowick and Chatham’s Kim Sterling will be travelling to Memphis to compete in the finals of the International Blues Challenge January 20-25. The local group earned their way to the big stage by winning the Bruce County Blues Society’s “Queen Street To Beale Street” contest this past October.

After recently completing a new E.P., the Sterling Blues Band will be live from Studio One at the Chatham Cultural Centre on Friday night. This fundraiser is being held to help offset costs for the trip to Memphis and are sanctioned by the Blues Society. The band will distribute the new EP at the Cultural Centre on Friday night.

Tickets can be found at Aug’s Video in Chatham and Blenheim, from band members or by calling 519-676-8801. Tickets are $15.
