A public forum on the legalization of marijuana is coming to council.

Ward 6 Councillor Doug Sulman says the public’s concerns and opinions could be helpful when it comes to developing local enforcement policies.

“You can imagine if there’s billowing smoke from a neighbour, someone’s going to call city hall or their councillor or the mayor,” Sulman says. “We’ve got to be prepared for these things, that’s what you do in a progressive community, you get ahead of it and be proactive.”

Sulman is asking municipal administration for a full report on how legalization will be handled locally.

A forum to discuss various issues, including enforcement, business licensing, and workplace issues will be held at the Civic Centre on June 11th.
