Skills Ontario is hosting an event geared to young women interested in learning about the trades in the LKDSB at WDSS on March 2nd.

Kayla Schurman is with Skills Ontario and says a number of women in the trades will be on hand to talk about career opportunities and offer first hand experience.

“We have construction, iron workers, electricians, our auto industry is really big so machinists, or anything like that,” says Schurman. “And we have our technology sector, which we call the cousins of the skilled trades. That could be web designer or videographer, things like that.”

There’s a $10 fee which includes a meal. Details can be found here.
