The days of the Chatham-Kent Tri-Board governance structure are officially over.

The new CKHA board directors will have a director from each ward, one from First Nations & five at large. All will be elected.

That announcement was made Thursday by Supervisor Rob Devitt.

“When I look at what happened to bring me to Chatham and prior to me investigator Bonny Adamson the investigator, was a fundamental failure of governance. it was both the structure and the execution of governance,” says Devitt. “Everything else in the hospital is integrated,  one medical staff, one set of employees one patient record, one general ledger one set of books, everything is together, except the boards.”

Also ending is the partnership with the Sisters of St. Joseph, after more than a century of support.
