A date has been set for Water Wells First to meet with officials from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

Spokesman Kevin Jakubec says the two groups will get together next Wednesday afternoon in Windsor to talk about contamination of area wells and the potential link to wind turbine construction.

“In order for us to have any way of fixing this problem, we’d have to use filters that are certified to remove heavy metals”, says Jakubec.

“The problem that we’re having with the Ministry is that we need to know how many parts per million of Kettle Point black shale particles and the different sizes [is safe for consumption]”, Jakubec explains.

Water Wells First activists are holding an information at the site of turbine construction for the North Kent Wind 1 project this week, but say if they can’t get the answers they want from the Ministry, their protests will be ramped up.
