Animals tend to be more active during the fall months because of their breeding, feeding, and hunting patterns.

In fact, over the past weekend, Provincial Police in Lambton County responded to 11 collisions involving deer.

Some tips to reduce the risk of a crash: scan the road ahead from shoulder to shoulder: deer tend to be particularly active at dawn and dusk, and rarely travel alone; don’t swerve to avoid an animal as that may result in a loss of control; and don’t direct your full attention to the animal you’re trying to avoid – look where you want to go.
