Water Wells First plans to ask the United Nations to declare Chatham-Kent a Water Crisis Zone, as well as approaching the Pacific Institute, which monitors water loss around the globe, to record the municipality as a significant loss of freshwater resources.

Spokesman Kevin Jakubec believes protecting natural water resources has taken a back seat to financial gain when it comes to large-scale wind turbine projects.

Jakubec says fewer than two dozen homes have reported turbid water in their wells, but with more turbines being built in the area, Jakubec says that number could soon be in the hundreds.
