100 Women Who Care

A local charity will be getting quite a gift after today.

The group 100+ Women Who Care Chatham-Kent is holding its first quarterly meeting of 2019 this evening, selecting one local charity to support.

The premise of the group is that each member chips in $100 and nominates a local organization. Three names are drawn at random and those members give a brief presentation, explaining why their charity of choice deserves the group’s support.

At the end of the meeting, members vote and one non-profit group is selected as the recipient of all of the evening’s donations.

At the last meeting in November, the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre was chosen and received a cheque for $12,500.

Tonight’s meeting is being held at the Retro Suites’ Derby Banquet Hall. Registration begins at 5pm, and the meeting runs from 6-7.
