A recent donation is expected to help ensure the long-term sustainability of essential programming for local children with special needs.

The James A. Beattie Foundation has donated $110,000 to the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTCF-CK) in support of a newly established Endowment Fund.

The funds will go towards services at the Children’s Treatment Centre that are not covered by government funding, such as social work, music therapy and recreational therapy.

“This contribution represents more than financial support – it’s an investment in the future of children and families in Chatham-Kent,” said Mike Genge, president and CEO of the CTCF-CK, in a news release.

The treatment centre currently provides services to more than 3,700 children and youth with physical, developmental, and communication challenges in Chatham-Kent.
