A local teen has been charged after allegedly whipping along Highway 40 in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers attempted to stop a vehicle on St. Clair Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Authorities say the vehicle was clocked at 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. However, due to the rate of speed, other officers were called in to pull the vehicle over.
An 18-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with stunt driving, and her licence has been suspended.
Her vehicle was also towed from the scene and will be impounded for 14 days.
