CK Public Health is reporting two new cases of the coronavirus along with three new recoveries in Tuesday’s report.
The active case count drops to 27, with 482 total cases, 452 cases resolved and three deaths. There are no Chatham-Kent residents currently in hospital with the virus.
Meanwhile, the Lambton-Kent District School Board has confirmed one case of COVID-19 at CKSS in Chatham affecting a staff member. No word at this point on how many staff or students have been put into quarantine, but the school itself remains open.
Two infections have been confirmed at UCC The Pines affecting two students with one classroom closed. Public Health has completed the necessary contact tracing and has determined that there is no impact to the remainder of the school community.
A school outbreak is still listed as active at Winston Churchill Public School in Chatham as well as three workplace outbreaks in Chatham-Kent.
Of C-K’s 27 active cases, 20 are listed as close contact transmissions with four cases linked to the workplace outbreaks and one case now connected to the school outbreak at Winston Churchill. One case is travel-related and one is unknown.
Across the province, Ontario reported a dip in cases with 1,009 new cases, although officials say the drop is in part due to a “technical error” that over-estimated Monday’s record-breaking 1,589 new cases and under-estimated today’s total.
The province says Monday’s totals included cases registered until 8PM on November 22nd instead of up to 12PM, shifting the timelines of the usual daily numbers.
