200 km/h On Highway 401 Leads To Charges

A London teen has been arrested in Chatham-Kent after allegedly driving more than double the speed limit on Highway 401.

The Ontario Provincial Police received a report about a motorcycle travelling at more than 200 km/h on Highway 401 in West Elgin, at around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers located the motorcycle at the Tilbury ONroute Service Centre and arrested a 19-year-old man from London.

The accused is now charged with dangerous driving, unsafe operation of a vehicle, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, stunt driving, and driving without a valid permit. He was also issued a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for 14 days.
