Free The Beer!

Federal Conservatives want to “Free The Beer.” beer

Okanogan MP Dan Albas was in Chatham-Kent yesterday, along with interim leader Rona Ambrose to tour Erieau’s Bayside Brewery and Pelee Island Winery in Kingsville, highlighting the importance of increasing trade in domestic beer and wine.

Albas says at this point, only three provinces have opened up their borders to the sale of domestic beer and wine.

“We know that our craft brewers are top notch, we know these small family wineries produce great products,” Albas says. “We want to make sure that Canadians can have the same access to that wherever they live, and to be able to sell their product to Canadians wherever they live.”

Albas says the key is owning your own market – he says right now, 70% of wine sold in Canada is imported.
