24th CK Resident Succumbs to COVID-19

Another local resident has lost their life to COVID-19.

Public Health officials say a woman in her 50s succumbed to the virus in a hospital outside of Chatham-Kent, despite having already been cleared by public health.

Overall, the number of active COVID cases in Chatham-Kent is down to 45 with one new infection and two cases resolved.

The outbreak at Thamesville Area Central School has been declared over with a total of two cases. There are still active outbreaks at Chatham Christian High School and an unidentified workplace.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is down to just one COVID patient, who remains on a ventilator in the ICU.

Occupancy of the intensive care unit sits at 60%, while beds in the medical, surgical, and critical care units are 93.8% filled.
