Snowmobile Safety Urged

snowmobilesyellowstoneIf you plan on heading north over the next few weeks, Provincial Police are urging snowmobilers to play safe.

Authorities say 13 people have been killed in snowmobile collisions province-wide this winter, including just six in the last few weeks.

Deputy Commissioner Brad Blair says most collisions aren’t random accidents, and says it all boils down to a lack of judgement.

The majority of crashes are blamed on unsafe ice, speeding, loss of control, alcohol, and driver inattention – all of which are preventable.
