Four hours, four parks, and 270 new trees.
Volunteers, local students, and community partners came together last Friday to green Wallaceburg.
The community-wide effort saw trees planted across Thompson, MacDonald, Optimist, and Dauw parks. Thompson Park was the largest planting site, with community volunteers lending a hand, while students helped bring new life to the other parks.
The project was supported by groups including NatureCK, the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority, Enbridge Gas, and Greenfield Global.
Organizers say the new saplings will provide shade, wildlife habitat, and greener public spaces for generations to come.
