Ontario’s top health experts are expecting 3,000 to 15,000 deaths in Ontario caused by COVID-19.

President and CEO of Public Health Ontario Dr. Peter Donnelly and company revealed the ‘modelled’ numbers this afternoon.

Most alarming may be that Ontario would have anticipated 100,000 deaths without the strict measures that have been undertaken.

With our current measures in place, and citizens abiding by them, that number drops to approximately 3,000 to 15,000, based on current best to worst case scenarios.

That number will escalate quickly if residents don’t follow our strict guidelines.

“We need people to stay home, stay focused, stop the spread and to stay safe,” says Dr. Donnelly.

The docs say these numbers will still have a dire effect on our health care system and could overwhelm ICU capacity across the province.
