Numbers are coming in following this past weekend’s 24-hour Survivor Challenge in support of the Blenheim Youth Centre.
It’s the first time the event has been held since before the pandemic, running Friday and Saturday at Memorial Park in Blenheim.
16 people took part in the challenge in eight teams of two, with alliances formed, challenges met, and people voted off. In the end, Dave Bonnell and his daughter Jamie were crowned the sole survivors, as well as taking the prize for top fundraisers, bringing in $8855 in sponsorships and pledges. Dave is a previous individual winner from 2013, and has now competed in the challenge with all four of his daughters.
In all, the Survivor Challenge raised more than $38,000 was raised to support of programs and services for the more than 1100 members of the Blenheim Youth Centre
