Local residents will be lacing up their running shoes this weekend to support children with special needs.
The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation will host the fourth annual Run for the Kids at Rondeau Provincial Park this Sunday, with participants will be encouraged to run, walk, or wheel to raise money.
The family-friendly event is open to participants of all ages and abilities. It will include a paved 200m fun event for kids and a 5km route that is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons.
Last year’s event brought in $120,000 to support programs such as specialized equipment, mental health services, therapeutic recreation, music therapy, pool programs and other critical services not funded by the government.
