5 New Cases, 28 Active In C-K

Chatham-Kent has five new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, according to CK Public Health.
The active case count is now at 28, with 11 cases connected to an unnamed workplace outbreak. Another 11 active cases are close contact transmissions, two are unknown, two are pending, one is travel-related and one is connected to a place of worship outbreak.
There are no C-K residents currently hospitalized due to COVID.
In this week’s media teleconference, Dr. David Colby said most local school cases of COVID-19 can be connected to the workplace outbreak where contracted workers were brought in from Windsor-Essex.
There are no local active cases connected to the congregate setting outbreak, but the outbreak has not yet been declared over by public health.
Ontario is reporting 1,575 new infections across the province today, the third straight day of record-breaking case numbers.
Chatham-Kent has had 445 total cases, 414 resolved infections and three deaths.
