5 New Cases, 6 Recoveries, 31 Active In C-K

COVID-19 UPDATE
CK Public Health is confirming five new cases of COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent on Tuesday, along with six recoveries.
The patient in hospital with the virus has now been released from care. There are now no local residents in hospital with the illness.
The active case count drops to 31 with a total of 557 cases, 523 recoveries and three deaths.
One outbreak remains active at Riverview Gardens in Chatham, affecting one staff member as of Tuesday afternoon.
SCHOOL UPDATE
The Lambton-Kent District School Board confirmed two cases of COVID-19 at Wallaceburg District Secondary School. Out of abundance of caution, 68 students and eight staff members have been dismissed to quarantine as per the direction of the health unit. The health unit is contacting any individuals who may have been in potential contact with the virus.
The public school board currently has two positive students at Queen Elizabeth II Public School in Chatham, one student case at Winston Churchill Public School in Chatham and one student positive at CKSS in Chatham 1 student at CKSS in Chatham on top of the two cases connected to WDSS.
There are no cases currently linked to the St. Clair Catholic District School Board.
ONTARIO REPORT
Ontario reported a single-day record 2,275 new infections on Tuesday. However, health officials say the new daily data includes changes to collections and 2.5 extra hours of info from several health units, inflating the totals.
The daily totals include 711 new cases in Toronto, 586 in Peel, 185 in Windsor-Essex and 154 in York, 99 in Hamilton and 92 in Durham. Middlesex-London added 31 new cases and Lambton County reported five new infections.
Officials say hospitalizations in the province are nearing highs of the first wave this past spring with 921 Ontario residents in hospital with 249 in ICU and 156 requiring a ventilator.
Hospitalizations maxed out at 1,043 during the first wave with ICU admissions topping out at 264.
