A popular 50/50 fundraiser is returning to Chatham-Kent in support of Wallaceburg’s hospital.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is launching its Igniting Healthcare Summer 50/50 Fundraiser with a guaranteed minimum jackpot of $50,000 and $10,000 in early bird prizes.

Proceeds from the draw will go towards the ongoing redevelopment of the Wallaceburg site of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance as part of a $9 million campaign that will help fund a new 24-hour Emergency Department, new beds, and several services, including ambulatory care, diagnostic imaging, and physiotherapy.

“This raffle is about more than just handing out great cash prizes to some of our amazing supporters,” said foundation President and CEO Christine Mitchell, in a news release. “It’s about building a stronger hospital that will serve our community for years to come.”

The 50/50 fundraiser kicked off at 9 o’clock this morning and runs until noon on September 25. Early bird prizes will also be drawn each Wednesday leading up to the grand prize draw.

The foundation’s most recent Spring 50/50 saw Morpeth resident George Kernohan take home the draw’s $50,860 grand prize.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the foundation office located at 9 Ursuline Ave. in Chatham, or online by clicking here.
