A morning fire caused $500,000 in damages to a warehouse on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg on Monday morning

Damage is pegged at $500,000 following this morning’s warehouse fire in Wallaceburg.

A passerby spotted the flames shooting from the Wallace Street building around 4:45 this morning – fire crews arrived to find the building fully engulfed.

Despite a warning to area residents about potentially dangerous fumes from the smoke, authorities now say there is no risk to the public.

The Fire Marshal’s Office has been notified, and investigators will be on site today to try to determine what sparked the blaze.
