$52K Worth Of Meth, Fentanyl Seized In Drug Bust

Four men are facing trafficking charges after thousands of dollars worth of drugs were seized during a bust in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with the Intelligence Unit and Emergency Response Team simultaneously executed search warrants at a residence and vehicle in Chatham on May 1 just before 9 p.m. The locations of the police raids have not been released.

Upon entering the residence, officers arrested several suspects and seized 258 grams of fentanyl and 11 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $52,000. Police also seized packaging material, digital scales, a debt List, four BB guns, and a significant amount of Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, four Chatham men ranging in age from 41 to 49 have been charged with two counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Three of the men are also charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, while one faces the additional charge of failing to comply with a release order.

All four of the accused have been held in custody pending bail hearings
