A Warning To Pet Owners About Hot Cars

Some people are visual learners so for that reason pet and wildlife rescue put on a display for pet owners Friday afternoon at Pet Smart in Chatham.

The lesson is old and so is the message.

Do not leave your dogs and pets in the car on hot days.

There are far too many tragic endings to someone just running into the store for a minute and returning to find their pet in distress, or worse.

So they showed people how quickly cars heat up even on mild days like today.

Myriam Anderson, the Ops Mgr. for the group reminds people if you see a pet in a hot car, do not smash the window yourself.

Call 9-1-1 and police will respond immediately.
