Accused Thief Arrested in Wallaceburg

Over two months after someone broke into a Wallaceburg home, an arrest has now been made.

Chatham-Kent Police launched an investigation on August 28th after someone forced their way into an Emily Street home.

Following further investigation, authorities were able to identify a 31-year-old woman, who was seen on surveillance footage breaking into the home through a window and stealing a number of items.

A warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest and this past Wednesday, the accused was found on the same street and taken into custody.

She has now been charged with break and enter, theft under $5000, and possession of stolen property under $5000.

She was released from custody with conditions and a date in court next week.
